The Mermaid Bomber

This is the second bomber jacket I have made recently. I used my first as a trial run for this one. And really, can you have too many bomber jackets? I don’t think so.

The back of it features a panel of material purchased from spoonflower.com – apologies if you haven’t heard of this website before, I recommend having your credit card supervisor on hand before entering! This is one of the options that comes up when you search “art nouveau mermaid”. I initially made a shirt out of it, which I will show here sometime, but I had enough of this precious fabric left over to make the back panel of this bomber. The remaining fabric is from The Fabric Store.

Like the Hebe Bomber, the Mermaid Bomber is also made from Papercut Pattern’s Rigel Bomber pattern.

I love this jacket. I’m waiting for it to get a bit more worn-in however, as the grey cotton is quite stiff.

Don’t you love how the chicken keeps photo-bombing me?

  1. I have just found your blog through Zest. As soon as I saw you were from Christchurch I was straight home to look your blog up.

I really like your bomber. I haven’t tried this pattern because I have adapted a pattern I already have but have made Papercut Patterns pants.
