Here’s another two for one post.
Firstly a $2 wool jersey I upcycled by cutting out the front and cutting off the sleeves. I did this to a jersey about 15 years ago and decided it was worth a revisit. Worn immediately so that is a sure sign that great ideas will always be in style 😉
Every super hero needs a cape. This is made from a pattern I borrowed from my sister – Simplicity 7438 – using 100% second hand fabrics.
The houndstooth wool outer and silk lining were from a friend’s deceased aunt’s (can you follow that?) garage sale, and the blue velvet ribbon I bought a skein of at a flea market in Holland. I absolutely adore velvet ribbon.
Can’t stay long – off to save the world.
Your cape looks lovely. Well done. I like your remake too.

The blue of the ribbon is a perfect match to your pull-over top. Isn’t it lovely when things work out like this? I think this cape is a good length.

Thanks! Yes, I love the length. It makes it practical to wear!

Yes, exactly! Longer capes are very dramatic but do limit your movements. BTW your hairstyle is super! Very reminiscent of the 1960s.
