Spare Room Style: A show and tell space for my latest sewing projects – all whipped up in my spare room.
A bit about me: I love to sew, and specifically clothes. I love to use second hand fabric where possible and buy from opshops and upcycle. I am not a fan of ‘fast fashion’ and making my own clothing is part of my reaction against that industry. I endeavour to wear something I’ve made everyday!
When I’m not at my sewing machine, I work in my job helping not for profits with their fundraising objectives. In my other life, I’ve been a performer in NZ and overseas for 20 years. You can see more about me doing that stuff here www.naomijoy.co.nz and here facebook.com/naomifergusonz
I endeavour to be a good human and live in a sustainable, environmentally sensitive way. I love to eat, talk, read, sing, ride my bike, and create things.
I live in Christchurch, New Zealand with my husband who is a composer and university lecturer, 2 cats named Douglas and Rita, and 3 chickens called Betty, Consuela and Jolanda.
